Bharti (Better Hearing And Rehabilitation of The Hearing Impaired) Charitable Foundation (Registered trust No. E/7975/Vadodara) is a cornerstone initiative created by Dr. Bhavin Parikh, an eminent practicing ENT surgeon of Vadodarain memory of his late mother, Bharti Parikh with a vision to help poor and needy patients suffering from various ENT diseases in and around Vadodara.
More than 2 million people in India are estimated to be suffering from severe ENT related problems. Nearly 60% of ENT diseases can be prevented if they are detected at early and proper treatment is given in time. But this has not been possible because of rampant poverty in our society. Poor patients find it difficult to visit qualified ENT surgeon and even after diagnosis are unable to afford medical and surgical treatment.
For more than 5 years, Bharti Charitable Foundation has taken initiative in this field to help those needy patients by holding regular ENT checkup camps in rural pockets of Vadodara districts, tribal areas of Panchmahal, Mahisagar, Dahod and Chhota Udaipur districts of Gujarat and Meghnagar, Jhabua and Alirajpur districts of Madhya Pradesh to directly cater tothe under privileged patients of our society.
At our camps, wedo free ENT checkups, free audio logical evaluation, give free medicines and offer surgical treatment to needy patients at a nominal cost. We also provide free hearing aids (subject to availability) to elderly who are leading a very miserable life as they can’t hear, communicate properly and cannot afford hearing aids.
Our motto is 'Better Hearing And Rehabilitation of The hearing Impaired' for everybody from anewborn child to 90 year old person. We believe that nobody should be deprived of hearing due to lack of money. Newborns with congenital deafness can be diagnosed and corrected by cochlear implant which is a very costly procedure and in elderly deafness can be corrected by hearing aids. Patients with chronic ear disease and otosclerosiscan be corrected by surgery.
Bharti Charitable Foundation (BCF) believes this is a never ending journey for a noble cause and as we progress more and more like minded people will join us and support us.During our journey of last 5 years, we have received support of various organizations like Lions club, Rotary club, JCI etc. At all our camps, local leaders, sarpanch and teachers have been proactive in spreading our message and have always tried to see to it that maximum number of patients attend our camps and take benefits of our services.
We feel a lot can be done in this field if we were able to pool in more resources in terms of man power and funds. Our team believes that if we are able to make even a little difference to lives of these unaffording people living in remote areas it will be a great job. We open handedly welcome everybody who is willing to participate in our efforts to eradicate deafness as it is as rampant a problem as blindness and till now little efforts has been put towards this problem in a developing country like ours. We should come forward to increase the numbers of health camps, audio logical check-ups and more number of free surgeries for deafness and to provide free hearing aids to needy elderly people.
Recently government is also gearing up with its measures to help and control deafness but it has its own limitations. So let us join hands and work towards a deafness free India. We expect something is better than nothing. So we welcome anybody willing to help to come forward and donate for this noble cause in their own capacity. We are highlighting our past activities and acknowledging our supporters in all our initiatives. All our activities in future will be regularly communicated to all our well wishers and supporters by Facebook, Twitter and through website.
